Épisode La Chaîne et le Boulet S01E05 - Haven Saison 1

Au bord de l'eau.

Vince et Dave sont à la pêche. Du moins, Dave pêche tandis que Vince réalise un croquis du paysage. Peu après, Vince pêche lui aussi, mais il accroche son hameçon à une barque qui flottait non loin. Ils sont obligés de la tirer au bord pour l'en détacher. En bougeant une couverture, ils découvrent un cadavre.

La police arrive sur les lieux. Nathan et Audrey pense que c'est quelqu'un qui a recouvert le cadavre avant de laisser la barque voguer. Vince leur montre le croquis du cadavre fait avant qu'ils arrivent : entre temps, il semble avoir vieilli. Quand elle se retrouve seule avec eux, Audrey demande aux Teagues si ils ont connu une femme du nom de Lucy, mais ils ne savent rien.

Nathan revient vers eux pour le dire qu'ils n'ont pas pu identifier la victime. Vu l'état des homards dans le bateau, on peut penser que la barque flotte depuis trois jours. Beatrice Mitchell, capitaine du port, arrive en tenant dans les bras son nouveau-né, Ben. Alors que Nathan devient complètement gaga de l'enfant, au désespoir d'Audrey, Beatrice reconnaît le petit bateau, il aurait été volé une semaine avant à Camden.

Revenue près du cadavre, Audrey remarque un tatouage sur le bras du cadavre, en forme de labyrinthe. Elle décide d'aller en parler à Duke, mais Nathan ne veut vraiment pas l'accompagner.

Au Grey Gull.

Duke inaugure son bar ce soir là, Audrey en profite donc pour demander aux invités s'ils connaissent l'homme du dessin. Personne ne lui accorde d'attention jusqu'à ce que Duke annonce qu'elle offrira un verre pour toute réponse. Il l'invite à prendre un verre, et ils se retrouvent au bar. Il lui propose de venir dîner avec lui dans la semaine. Audrey accepte mais Duke pari qu'elle annulera au dernier moment pour son travail. Elle parle ensuite à la barmaid, Nora, et elles remarquent un habitant de Haven qui embrasse follement une inconnue.

Salon de tatouage.

Audrey et Nathan interrogent un tatoueur qui leur confirme que c'est son oeuvre, mais qu'il ne l'aurait jamais fait sur une personne âgée.

Terrain de tennis.

Ils rejoignent Eleanor. Elle leur confirme que le mort avait son tatouage depuis au moins ces 30 ans, et qu'il était mort depuis une semaine. Audrey se demande si quelque chose pourrait avoir accéléré son vieillissement. Eleanor ajoute qu'il n'ont trouvé aucun signe de drogue. L'homme qui joue de l'autre côté du terrain s'effondre. Ils se précipitent vers lui. C'est Joe Campbell qu'Audrey a vu la veille avec l'inconnue. L'homme semble pourtant avoir dix ans de plus.

Au Grey Gull.

Après avoir eu la confirmation d'un vieillissement accéléré, ils vont voir Duke qui jure ne pas connaître la femme. En allant parler à Nora, Audrey en profite pour confirmer à Duke leur rendez-vous du soir. Nathan et Audrey pense demander à Vince de faire un croquis de l'inconnue à partir des éléments qu'Audrey se souvient. Nathan apprend que comme le précédent mort, Campbell avait un dossier judiciaire pour braconnage.

Au bureau de Beatrice.

La capitaine jure ne pas reconnaître la femme sur croquis. Elle semble choquée d'apprendre que Joe est mort. Sa nourrice, Abby, arrive. Elle leur dit qu'elle est une amie de la famille depuis des années. Comme Nathan reçoit un appel, Beatrice dit à Audrey qu'elle va prendre un congé maternité et quitter Haven. Une fois les policiers partis, Beatrice dit à Abby 'qu'ils sont au courant pour Helena mais qu'ils ne savent pas quand elle va revenir'.

Devant la maison.

Nathan reçoit un appel pour un nouvel indice. Le premier mort a été identifié, Phil Reiser, il était sensé être avec son partenaire dans la barque. Ils se rendent sur le lieu de travail de cet homme. Audrey n'a pas le choix, elle appelle Duke pour annuler leur dîner. Il est très déçu. L'homme, James Wardell, finit par arriver, ils l'amènent au poste.

Police de Haven.

Il reconnaît la femme sur la photo mais ne connaît que son prénom : Helena. Il confirme qu'elle était avec Phil le vendredi précédent, et qu'il avait dit être trop fatigué pour le voir le lendemain. Il n'avait pas pu l'amener à l'hôpital. Au final, il l'avait caché dans la barque. Audrey se rend compte qu'Helena tue tous les vendredi... Et ce soir est un vendredi soir.

Au Grey Gull.

Duke déçu, boit une boisson quand une jolie femme le rejoint. C'est Helena, mais Duke n'a pas vu le portrait qu'Audrey a fait faire, il se laisse séduire. 
Le lendemain, il se réveille seul, courbaturé. Il essaye de se rendre jusqu'à sa voiture, croise Beatrice et Abby qui sont à la recherche de quelqu'un.

Police de Haven.

Nathan et Audrey font des recherches et trouvent un cas similaire qui avait eu lieu en 1954 à Derry. Une femme du nom d'Alexandra Leidner avait trouvé le corps. Elle veut l'interroger, mais malheureusement elle était morte dans la semaine qui avait suivi le meurtre. 
Elle reçoit un appel de Duke, qui ne va pas bien et a besoin de leur aide.

Au Grey Gull.

Audrey et Nathan trouve Duke qui commence déjà à vieillir. Il avoue avoir couché avec une femme qui pourrait être Helena. Duke refuse d'aller à l'hôpital car ils ne pourront rien changer. Il mentionne avoir vu Beatrice et Abby à la recherche d'une personne, ils décident d'aller leur parler.

Chez Beatrice.

Abby leur ouvre et leur dit qu'ils ne peuvent plus arrêter Helena. Is trouvent les tenus d'Helena a côté de celles de Beatrice et découvrent un certificat - le nom de jeune fille de Beatrice est Leidner, elle est la petite fille d'Alexandra. Ils comprennent qu'Helena et Beatrice ne sont qu'une seule et même personne. 
Abby leur explique qu'elle se cache dans le phare les moments où elle est Helena.

Au phare.

La porte est verrouillée, ils l'enfoncent à coup de pied. Ils trouvent Beatrice et un autre nouveau-né, mais elle est à nouveau enceinte. Audrey comprend que chaque bébé qui naît prend la vie d'un homme. Beatrice admet qu'elle ne peut pas contrôler les désirs sexuels d'Helena.

Dehors, Duke a du mal à respirer, Nathan le soutien.

Alors que Beatrice a ses contractions, Audrey tente d'obtenir les informations qui pourraient sauver Duke. Le trouble s'est déclenché quand Beatrice a rencontré son ex-mari qui avait une belle nouvelle famille. Ils avaient rompu car ils n'arrivaient pas à avoir d'enfant. La nuit de leur rencontre, elle était devenue Helena et était tombée enceinte le lendemain. Abby lui raconte qu'elle aidait déjà Alexandra à l'époque et qu'elle était morte en accouchant.

Duke demande à Nathan s'il le hait vraiment, et Nathan semble moins rancunier que les autres fois. Duke lui dit que même s'il aime être seul, il ne veut pas mourir seul et Nathan lui assure qu'ils ne le laisseront pas mourir. En plaisantant, il dit qu'il a bien l'intention de le tuer lui-même.

Audrey réfléchi, elle se rend compte que Joe a vécu un jour de plus que Phil, cela lui donne une idée.

Duke fait une crise cardiaque et Nathan lui fait un massage cardiaque.

Beatrice accouche, Audrey suggère que Duke tiennent le bébé. Au final, l'état de Duke empire, Audrey comprend qu'il faut en fait les éloigner un maximum. Ils font venir une personne qui accepte d'adopter le bébé, et s'en va avec lui, tandis que Duke semble aller mieux, même s'il ne se souvient de rien.

Au Grey Gull.

Après avoir réfléchi, Audrey décide de dire à Duke qu'il a une petite fille, Jean, et lui montre la photo qu'elle a eu le temps de pendre. Elle lui explique qu'il ne pourra jamais être près d'elle. Il lui affirme qu'il ne pourra pas regrette quelque chose qu'il n'a jamais eu, il est sous le choc mais pas en colère. Il s'éloigne, lance un regard à Nathan qui attend dehors, la situation semble être revenue comme avant.

Au phare.

Abby s'occupe des bébés tandis que Beatrice se transforme à nouveau en Helena. Elle monte en haut du phare, et regarde la ville avec un sourire malsain. Heureusement, avant la transformation, Beatrice s'était enchaînée et avait donné les clés à Abby. Elle est condamnée à rester là...

A terminer

Bord de mer.

Dave pêche pendant que Vince dessine.

Vince : Grand-mère pouvait lancer sa ligne plus loin que toi tu sais.Beaucoup plus loin.

Dave : Ouais. Grand-mère était très forte souviens-toi. Je le prend donc comme un compliment.

Vince : Prend-le comme tu veux mon vieux.

Dave : Vas-y, montre-moi ce que tu sais faire.

Vince prend la ligne.

Vince : Regarde et prend-en de la graine.

Il lance la ligne.

Vince : J'entend Grand-mère danser la gigue dans sa tombe. ( la ligne s'est accrochée à une barque ) Oh non, la poisse !

Il tire pour ramener la barque.

Dave : Et moi je viens de l'entendre tomber et se casser une jambe. Encore.

Vince : Qu'est-ce que c'est cette barque bon sang ? Je vais couper la ligne.

Dave : Fais pas ça. C'est mon leurre préféré. En plus je crois qu'elle est pas ammarrée. Vas-y, essaie de la tirer.

Vince : Je me demande à qui est cette barque.

Dave : Continue.

Vince : C'est bon attrape-la.

La barque atteint leur pont et Dave regarde à l'intérieur. Il y a une bâche.

Dave : Ouhhhh. Qu'est-ce qu'ils puent ces homards.

Vince : C'est quoi ça ? Regarde ce qu'il y a sous la bâche-là.

Dave : Hors de question.

Vince : Ouh Dave, vas-tu cesser tes enfantillages.

Il soulève un peu de la bâche. On voit un bras.

 

Plus tard.

 

Nathan et Audrey arrivent.

Audrey : Je te crois pas une seconde.

Nathan : Je te jure.

Audrey : Tu fais du golf ?

Nathan : Puisque je te le dis.

Audrey : T'es un golfeur.

Nathan : Exactement.

Elle rit.

Nathan : Et toi, t'as pas un passe-temps ?

Audrey : Si, les scènes de crimes.

Nathan : Ah, ça s'est reposant ?

Audrey : Ouais, moi ça me détend bien.

Ils arrivent à côté de la victime.

Audrey : Alors, de quoi s'agit-il ? Allons-y.

Elle soulève la bâche.

Audrey : En tous cas, il est pas mort jeune. Il avait au moins 100 ans. C'est vous qui avait déplaçé le cadavre ?

L'officier : La barque prenait l'eau, on a pas pu faire autrement.

Nathan : Trop vieux pour sortir en barque.

Audrey : Et même trop vieux pour monter dedans. Donc quelqu'un l'a recouvert de cette bâche.

L'officier : Non. Les deux gars qui ont trouvé le corps ont dis qu'il était déjà couvert.

Nathan : Il était déjà sous la bâche ?

L'officier : Ouais.

Audrey : Tu vois, c'est pas plus excitant que le golf ça ?

 

Vince et Dave remontent de leur ponton.

Audrey : Tiens. Bonjour, vous allez bien ?

Vince : Et bien disons que ...

Dave : On a déjà connu mieux.

Nathan : C'est vous qui avez trouvé le corps ?

Vince : En effet oui. Et il avait une autre tête que ça quand on l'a retrouvé.

Audrey : Comment ? Quelle tête il avait ?

Dave : Il était vieux et mort. Mais maintenant, il a l'air plus vieux. Et plus mort.

Vince tend un dessin à Audrey.

Vince : Tenez. Ca pourra peut-être vous être utile.

Audrey : C'est lui ? C'est le cadavre ?

Elle passe le dessin à Nathan qui va voir l'officier.

Dave : Je pense que la police dispose aussi d'un appareil-photo Vince.

Vince : Qu'est-ce que ça te coûte de leur donner hein ?

Dave : On pourrait avoir une déclaration pour le Haven Herald ?

Audrey : Les gars, du calme. Je suis là depuis un quart d'heure à peine. J'aimerai vous demander un petit renseignement. En fait c'est à propos d'une personne.

Dave : Lui on le connait pas, je crois pas.

Vince : C'est difficile à dire.

Audrey : Ce n'est pas de lui dont je veux parler. Vous vous rappelez la femme à qui je ressemble ?

Dave : C'est de la photo vous voulez dire ?

Audrey : Oui.

Vince : En 84.

Dave : 3. En 83.

Audrey : Oui. Est-ce que ... croyez-vous qu'il y est une chance qu'elle aie pu s'appeler Lucy ?

Dave regarde Vince : Ca se pourrait.

Vince : Je ne me souviens pas si il y avait un nom dans la légende de cette photo.

Dave : Il faut que je vous laisse.

Il part.

Vince : Ah, c'est l'heure du Mai Tais quotidien. Il y résiste pas. On reparle de tout ça, d'accord ?

Audrey : Ouais d'accord.

Vince part et Nathan revient.

Nathan : Il n'avait aucun papier sur lui. Ils t'ont dit des choses intéressantes ?

Audrey : Non. Mais y a un truc bizarre avec ce corps. Bon, reprenons. Une personne a déposé ce type dans le bateau et l'a ensuite recouvert d'une bache. La question est : quand ?

Nathan : Bah, je dirais que ces homards sont morts depuis quelques jours. Une semaine disons. En tous cas il allait bien à la pêche aux homards. Des filets, des pièges, des breveux.

Audrey : Des breuveux ? D'où est-ce que tu sors des mots pareils ?

Nathan : Mon père avait un bateau de pêche. Allons voir la commandante de la capitainerie. Elle saura si un pêcheur de homards est porté disparu.

Audrey : Et peut-être qu'elle pourra nous dire pourquoi ce veillard était toujours en activité.

On entend un cri de bébé.

Nathan se retourne et voit une jeune femme tenant un bébé.

Nathan : Beattie ... Je savais pas que vous étiez enceinte.

Beattie : Et pour cause, l'adoption a enfin aboutis. Et lui, c'est Benny.

Nathan prend une drôle de voix : Oh salut Benny.

Audrey le regarde bizarrement.

Nathan joue avec le garçon : Et Benny. Ravi de te rencontrer Benny.

Audrey le coupe : Ok, qui êtes-vous et qu'avez-vous de mon collègue ?

Beattie : Les bébés font cet effet avec beaucoup de monde. Béatrice Mitchell, commandante du port mais ( elle regarde Nathan ) ici tout le monde m'appelle Beattie.

Audrey : Je suis Audrey Parker. Ravie de vous rencontrer.

Béatrice : J'ai attrapé Benny et je suis venue ici dès que j'ai appris pour le corps.

Nathan : Je peux ( il désigne le bébé ) ?

Nathan le prend dans ses bras.

Nathan : Oh ce qu'il est mignon.

Audrey sourie : D'accord. ( Elle se tourne vers Béatrice ) Donc est-ce que vous avez vu quelque ...

Nathan reprend sa voix bizarre : Le bébé.

Audrey : Est-ce que vous avez vu quelque chose d'étrange autour du port ces dernières semaines ?

Béatrice : Non mais ce bateau est pas de chez nous. Je l'ai su dès que je l'ai vu. Il a été déclaré volé par le port de Camden il y a un peu plus d'une semaine.

Nathan : Le matériel a pu être volé avec. ( au bébé de nouveau avec sa voix bizarre ) Tu veux bien te renseigner ? D'accord Benny ? Tu le feras ?

Bétarice : Je vais m'en occuper.

Audrey : Ok sois gentil, rend lui son bébé et redevient un flic normal.

Il rend le bébé.

Nathan : Il est trop mignon.

Béatrice : Appelez moi si je peux vous être utile.

Elle part.

Audrey, en s'approchant du mort : Hé. Tu avais déjà vu un tatouage comme ça ?

Nathan : Non, je dois reconnaître.

Audrey : Moi non plus. Peut-être que le mec qui a tatoué ça pourra nous dire qui est notre inconnu.

Nathan : Je vais passer des coups de fil.

Audrey : D'accord. Moi je vais au restot de Duke. Il y a beaucoup de gens du coin et ils pourront peut-être nous dire qui est ce type.

Apparement ça n'emballe pas Nathan.

Audrey : Tu veux venir ?

Nathan : Tu t'en sortiras toute seule.

Et il part.

Audrey : Ok tu penses que ça se terminera quand ta crise contre Duke ? Oh c'est vrai peu importe t'as raison. Il est inutile de parler de ça. Vous vous entendez si bien tous les deux.

Nathan se retourne et lui fait un coucou en souriant.

 

 

Second Chance.

 

Audrey interpelle les gens avec le portrai du mort.

Audrey : Vous connaisez ? Excusez- moi, vous connaisez cet homme ? S'il vous plait cous le connaissez ? Non ? Et vous ? Euh, est-ce que ... ?

Comme personne ne fait attention à elle, elle monte sur une table.

Audrey : Ok, si l'un d'entre vous a déjà vu cet homme, ou alors, si quelqu'un a vu quoi que ce soit de louche dans le port ...

Duke remarque sa détresse.

Audrey : Monsieurs, dames, si quelqu'un parmi vous connais ce type et qu'il accepte de me renseigner je lui offre à boire.

Toujours aucune réaction.

Duke : Pendant un mois.

Cris d'enthousiasme de la foule.

Duke s'approche d'Audrey et lui prend le portai : Et voilà le travail. Permettez ?

Il donne le portrai et les gens le font passer.

Duke : Regardez moi ça. ( A Audrey ) Alors qu'est-ce que vous buvez ?

Audrey : Je ne bois rien c'est gentil.

Duke : Audrey ... C'est ma grande fête de réouverture, je vous offre un verre.

Audrey : Non je peux ...

Une femme lui donne un verre qu'elle prend.

Audrey : Bon d'accord un seul. Je vous remercie.

Duke : On est vendredi soir.

Audrey : hein hein. Tout juste et ce cockail est super bon.

Duke : Merci.

Audrey : Mais je dois interroger tous ces gens.

Duke : Est-ce que cela vous détrendrez si je vous disez qu'il n'y a personne ici qui connais votre cadavre ?

Audrey : Comment vous le savez ?

Duke : Les gens aiment parler et je sais les écouter.

Audrey : Qui vous a dit qu'il était mort ?

Duke : Lieutenant Parker. Oubliez un peu le boulot pour ce soir.

Audrey : Je dois dire que venant de la part d'un mec qui n'a jamais travaillé de sa vie, ça vaut son pesan de cacahuètes.

Duke : Oh non. Oh non c'est pas une façon de parler à ses amis ça. C'est vrai ce que je vous dis. Je considère qu'on est ami.

Audrey : hein hein ?

Duke : Et en tant qu'ami, je m'inquiète pour vous. Vous ne pensez qu'à bosser. Et un jour vous vous rendrez compte que vous avez oublié de vivre.

Audrey : Si je continue à manger ces cochoneries, j'en ai pu pour lontemps à oublier de vivre.

Duke : Vous oubliez le boulot pour ce soir. Et je vous concocte un délicieux repas diéthétique.

Audrey : Ca c'est très gentil mais ...

Duke : Vendredi prochain. Ici.

Audrey : Vous ? Prévoir un truc à l'avance ? Je sais que cela n'arrivera pas.

Duke : Je parie que c'est vous qui allez annuler.

Audrey : Aucune chance.

Duke : J'entedn d'ici le coup de fil : Oh, désolée Duke, je suis prise ce soir car l'avenir de toute l'humanité dépend de moi.

Il part et elle sourit.

Elle récupère son portrai.

Audrey : Excusez moi. Pardon. Alors voilà. Par expérience je sais qu'une barman en sait plus que tout le monde. Est-ce que ce type est déjà venu ici ?

La barman : Non, désolé.

Audrey : Raté.

La barman : Je m'appelle Nora.

Audrey : Audrey. Et au cas où quelque chose vous revient, vous pourriez me contacter, d'accord ?

Nora : D'accord.

Audrey regarde le bar et voit une femme embrassait un homme.

Audrey : Et bien ! Elle a de l'apétit elle.

Nora : Joe Campbel a un faible pour toutes les touristes.

La femme rit.

Duke revient : N'oubliez pas. Vendredi prochain. Notre tête-à-tête.

Audrey : Oui oui, on verra.

Duke : Audrey. L'humanité n'est pas encore en danger.

Audrey : Merci.

Near from the water

Two men are fishing.

Dave : Our grandmamma could cast farther than you.
Vince : Much farther.
Dave : Yeah, well, grandmamma was pretty tough.
Vince : So I'll take that as a compliment.
Dave : You can take it however you like. Let's see what you got.
Vince : Watch and learn, brother. I believe our grandma's doing a little gig in the grave. Oh, crap. I think I heard her just fall and break a hip... again. Ah, it caught up on that boat. I'll cut the line.
Dave : No, no, don't do that. That's my favorite lure. Besides, I don't think that boat's tied. See if you can reel it in.
Vince : I wonder whose dinghy that is.
Dave : Good job.
Vince : All right, grab her.
Dave : Oh, those lobsters reek.
Vince : What's that? Lift that tarp off there.
Dave : No way.
Vince : Oh, Dave, grow a set, would ya? Ooh!

Later.

Audrey : I don't believe it.
Nathan : It's true.
Audrey : You golf.
Nathan : Indeed I do.
Audrey : You're a golfer.
Nathan : I am. What, you don't have any hobbies?
Audrey : Yeah... crime scenes.
Nathan : Oh, sounds, relaxing.
Audrey : Yeah, well, they are to me. All right, so what do we got here? Okay. Ooh. That guy has lived a full life. He's at least 100 years old. So what, did you guys move the body?
Agent : Yeah, I had to. The boat was filling with water.
Nathan : Pretty old to go boating.
Audrey : Pretty old to even get in a boat. All right, so did somebody just put a tarp over it?
Agent : No, the two guys that found the body said it was already under the tarp.
Audrey : Under the tarp?
Agent : Yeah.
Audrey : Oh, now, see? This is so much better than golf. Well, hey. You guys okay?
Dave : We've been better.
Vince : Much, much better.
Nathan : You guys found the body?
Vince : We did. But he didn't look like that when we found him. 
Audrey : Well, what... what did he look like?
Vince : Old. Dead. Now he looks even older. Deader. Thought you might find this useful.
Audrey : That's the same body? I believe the police own a camera or two, Vince.
Vince : Well, it can't hurt, can it?
Dave : Can we get a statement for the Haven Herald?
Audrey : Oh, come on, guys. I've been here less than 10 minutes. Hey, can I... can I ask you about something? Oh, or not something, but someone.
Dave : Oh, we don't think we know him. 
Vince : Hard to tell, though.
Audrey : No, no. This isn't about the body. You remember that woman that I look like?
Dave : In the Colorado kid pic?
Audrey : Yeah.
Dave : 1984?
Vince : Three. 1983.
Audrey : Yes. Do you... do you think there's a chance that her name could be Lucy?
Dave : Could be.
Vince : I don't remember a name attached to the photo.
Dave : I gotta get out of here.
Vince : Mai Tais are calling him home. Can we pick this up later?
Audre : Yeah, sure.

Nathan : No I.D. on the body.
Audrey : They have anything else to share?
Nathan : No, but something about this guy seems off.
Audrey : All right, so somebody puts this guy in a boat, and then puts a tarp over him. The question is, when?
Nathan : Well, I'd say these lobsters have been dead three days. Maybe a week. He was definitely out for lobster. Snares, catch bag, tickle sticks.
Audrey : Tickle sticks? What, do you know that from your private collection?
Nathan : My father has a fishing boat. Well, we should check in with the harbor master. If any of the local lobster men are missing, she'll know.
Audrey : Yeah, and then maybe she can tell us why somebody this old is still working.
Nathan : Beattie... I didn't even know you were expecting.
Beatrice : I wasn't. The adoption just came through. Aw, this... is Benny.
Nathan : Well, hi there, Benny. Hi, Benny. Nice to meet you, Benny.
Audrey : Okay, who are you, and what have you done with my partner?
Beatrice : Oh, babies do that to people. I'm Beatrice Mitchell, Harbor Master. But everybody calls me Beattie.
Audrey : Hi, I'm Audrey Parker. It's nice to meet you.
Beatrice : Well, I scooped up Benny and came right in when I heard about the body.
Nathan : Can I?
Beatrice : Mm-hmm. 
Nathan : Ohh. Ooh, it's okay.
Audrey : All right, so, uh, have you seen anything... Have you seen anything strange going on around the harbor in the past week?

Audrey : Well, maybe the lobster gear's stolen too. Can you ask around?
Nathan : Can you, Benny? Can you ask? I can do that.
Audrey : Okay, just, can you give her her baby back and turn into a cop again?
Nathan : Ohh. Oh, stretchies. Wow.
Beatrice : Call me if you need any more help.

Audrey : Hey. You ever seen a tattoo like this before?
Nathan : I can't say I have.
Audrey : Yeah, me, either. So maybe whoever put it on his arm can tell us who John Doe is.
Nathan : I'll make some calls.
Audrey : All right. And I'll go ahead and check Duke's new place. There's a lot of locals there that might be able to tell us who he is. You wanna come? 
Nathan : I think you can handle that. 
Audrey : Okay, when are you gonna get past this whole. "I hate Duke" thing? You know what? Never mind. You're right. Why even talk about it? You know, it's going so well between you two.

Audrey : Excuse me, have you ever seen this guy? Hey, seen this guy? No? You? All right. Hey, you, uh... Okay, if any of you guys have seen this man or... you've seen anything suspicious around the harbor...

Duke : Hey! People of the Grey Gull! If any of you know this dude, and you could come and tell me anything, you drink free. For a month! Your work here is done. So... what are you drinking?
Audrey : I'm not drinking, actually.
Duke : Audrey... it's my grand reopening party. Have a drink.
Audrey : I really can't.
Duke : Okay, just one. That's good. It is Friday night.
Audrey :Mm-hmm. That's true, and this is really good, by the way.
Duke : Thank you.
Audrey :But I really need to canvas the crowd.
Duke : Would you relax if I told you that nobody here knows your dead guy?
Audrey : Wait, how do you know that?
Duke : People like to talk. I like to listen.
Audrey : No, but what... what are you talking about?

Audrey : Okay, well, coming from a man who's never worked a day in his life, that doesn't really mean that much.

Audrey : Okay, my experience is the bartender knows more than everybody else. So has this guy ever come through here?

Audrey : Uhh, this is the only place I haven't talked to. No one else recognizes the tattoo on John Doe.
Nathan : I spoke to Beatrice. She said a few lobster men reported lobsters missing from their traps.
Audrey : Wait, so John Doe could be a lobster thief?
Nathan : Poacher.
Audrey : Oh, poacher.
Nathan : And while you were gone at your party, I, uh, I called supply shops to tie the gear on the boat to the person who bought it.
Audrey : Ah, that's a good idea.
Nathan : Yeah... no hits yet, but I thought it was a good idea. It might be an even better idea if we open the search to Camden, since the boat was stolen from there. Have you seen this tattoo?
Man : Done more than seen it, I designed it.
Audrey : Did you ever tattoo this on a guy in his 80s or 90s?
Man : Nah, I'd remember that.
Audrey : So maybe someone stole your design?
Man : Could happen. But there's no way that guy got that tattoo as an old man. Once the skin begins to age, you have to ink the person with a focus on how that skin lays. Believe me, look a hell of a lot different if he'd gotten this in his 80s.
Audrey : So then he got it when he was young, but that would be years before you created it.
Man : By the looks of it, decades before.

Audrey : He wasn't old when he got the tattoo.
Eleanor : Judging by the bone density, John Doe was in his 30s when he died.
Audrey : And he died of...
Eleanor : Old age.
Audrey : Huh. Is it possible that that extreme type of aging could happen during decomposition?
Eleanor : Don't see how. Molasses, dang nabit! Decomp takes six months to a year, depending on the environment.
Audrey : And in the case of John Doe?
Eleanor : Maybe a week. Agh! Careful, Henry! I'm comin' over there.
Audrey : How do you know it's just a week?
Eleanor : Oh, the flesh was completely deteriorated, but the insects that speed the process along were far too immature. Dear! Henry's got his wicked stuff going today. Maybe if I had a little space.
Audrey : Sorry.
Nathan : Sorry.
Audrey : Is there anything that could have sped up the decomposition, like some sort of drug or a poison?
Eleanor : Tox screen was clean. No, there isn't. Quit jammin' me, Henry. John Doe didn't just start rapidly decomposing. He... he was aging at that rate while he was still alive.
Audrey :  Is there anything that can explain that kind of aging?
Eleanor : No, there isn't. But this is Haven, isn't it?

Man : Dr. Carr. Hospital said you were here.
Audrey : What the hell?
Man : Doc... you gotta help me.
Eleanor : He's dying.
Audrey : You know him?
Eleanor : No. I need an EMT at the tennis courts.
Audrey : Joe Campbell.
Nathan : Campbell? I went to high school with him. This guy looks like he's 80.
Audrey : Yeah, I saw him at the Grey Gull on Friday night, and he was 30. 35 tops.

Audrey : Well, Bangor confirms it. Both John Doe and Joe Campbell died the same exact way: rapidly aging and rapidly decomposing.
Nathan : You sure you saw Campbell here?
Audrey : Oh, yeah, I'm sure, and from what I saw, he was feeling pretty good and about to feel even better. Haven's finest.

Audrey : We're looking into the death of Joe Campbell.
Duke : Yeah, I heard about that. Some nasty stuff.
Audrey : Do you remember the woman that he was making out with at the bar on Friday night?
Duke : I think it's very sweet that you still say "making out." Sorry I can't be more helpful. I only saw the back of her. Joe did have a thing for tourists, though.
Audrey : Anyone in particular?
Duke : Ones he wasn't married to. Guess that's why he's not married anymore.
Audrey : All right, is Nora working today?
Duke : Yeah. Hey, we, uh, still on?
Audrey : Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Duke : Don't you work it too hard now, Officer Wuornos. 'Cause I heard that being a cop... can destroy all evidence of having a personality. 
Nathan : Just... suck it, right out of you.

Nora : He left with that chick. She was practically assaulting him, but he didn't seem to mind too much.
Audrey : She have a name?
Nora : I think I heard her tell him it was Helena. Or Elena. It was loud in here.
Audrey : Did you catch a last name? Maybe she paid with a credit card.
Nora : A girl like that has never paid for a drink in her life. Doesn't even reach for her purse. Not even a courtesy grab.

Nora : Not pretty. Beautiful. Long hair that she doesn't color at home. You know what I'm saying.

Audrey : We need to get a sketch artist.
Nathan : I could get a guy down from Portland. Take a couple of days.
Audrey : Days?
Nathan : Or we could use a local guy I know. Not exactly a pro, but he's good.

Audrey : Cross two celebrities. Like Mariah Carey meets Barbra streisand.
Vince : Yeah.
Audrey : Okay, okay, sure. But a smaller nose than Barbra, and maybe more like Penelope Cruz.
Vnice : From Carlito's way?
Audrey : From every movie except that one.
Vince : Oh. Smaller nose than Barbra Streisand.
Audrey : Mm-hmm.
Vince : Bigger than Penelope Cruz. Like that?
Nathan : Is that a beret?
Vince : That's a hermes scarf, Nathan. You said she looked European.
Audrey : Okay, lose the scarf. But, yeah, that... that looks a lot like her.

Nathan : Hey. Got a couple of hits on Joe Campbell. One for petty larceny, another for poaching. Out of Portland. Like John Doe.
Audrey : All right, so maybe Helena has issues with poachers.
Nathan : Well, every lobster man has issues with poachers.
Audrey : That's true, but none of them took Joe Campbell home the other night. This Helena was wandering around the harbor.

Nathan : I thought you might know about it.
Beatrice : Normally, yeah, but I've never seen her before. Think she might have something to do with your John Doe?
Audrey : Well, we don't know yet. We just know that she was the last person seen with Joe Campbell.
Beatrice : Joe... Joe Campbell?
Audrey : Yeah, he died the same way as John Doe.
Beatrice : Ohh... I hadn't heard about Joe. He was a loser. But a gentle loser.

Abby : Beatrice, I... Oh... I'm sorry. I didn't realize you had company.
Beatrice : This is my nanny, Abby.
Audrey : Hi. So you ended up finding some help?
Abby : I came all the way out from Nebraska to help out with the baby. I've been friends with Beattie's family for a long time.
Beatrice : Abby has been a blessing. I wouldn't leave Benny with just anyone.
Nathan : Pink blanket? You're gonna confuse little Benny here. 
Beatrice : Hand-me-downs. The adoption came through so quickly.
Nathan : Mm! Mm! Mm! Now I know what to get you for a baby gift.
Audrey : Okay, seriously, can you stop? You're freaking me out. Wuornos.

Abby : The car's loaded up. I'm ready whenever you are.
Audrey : Oh, you going somewhere?
Beatrice : On maternity leave. Life first, work second, right?
Audrey : Yeah, of course. Hey, it was nice to meet you, Abby. Mm-hmm.

Abby : Beattie, what is it?
Beatrice : They know about Helena.
Abby : How much do they know?
Beatrice : They know she's been in Haven. But they don't know when she's coming back.

Nathan : Bait shop in Camden sold the same supplies we found on John Doe's boat to two men in their 30s. One of 'em had short hair like John Doe. Store owner identified him as Phil Reiser.
Audrey : Great. Did he I.D. the other guy?
Nathan : No. All he could say was he was average height, average build, drives a green pickup. The two of them come in every Friday, always pay cash. 
Audrey : You think green pickup guy is gonna stick to schedule, now that his partner's dead?
Nathan : Wouldn't be the smartest play, but they special ordered a new outboard engine. Prepaid. Guy expects it in on Friday.
Audrey : How much does an engine like that cost?
Nathan : $7,500.
Audrey : Oh, that kind of money will make people do stupid things.
Nathan : Almost always. 
Audrey : Looks like we're going to Camden on Friday.
Nathan : Yep.
Audrey : This is the part I really hate about stakeouts, is when your legs stop working.
Nathan : Tell me about it.

Phone rings. 

Audrey : Oh, hey, Duke.
Duke : On the menu this evening is a grilled tiger shrimp, marinated in coconut. Just came in this morning.
Audrey : Dinner Friday night, right.
Duke : Shrimp, that's... that's actually my favorite. Oh, don't even think about canceling on me, woman.
Audrey : You know, I'm... I'm really sorry. I don't think I'm gonna be able to go.
Duke : Let me guess: You are working, am I right?
Audrey : Maybe.
Duke : Mm-hmm.
Nathan : Parker.
Audrey : Okay, I gotta go.
Duke : Yeah, better go save the world, officer Parker. Hey... I told you I'd win the bet.
Nathan : Hey! Please... don't make me chase you.

Haven PD

Nathan : James Wardel. Wanted in connection with grand theft auto and poaching. Roommates with Phil Reiser, who had what in his boat when we found him dead? I believe it was poaching gear.
James : I don't know what you're talking about.
Nathan : Yeah, of course you don't.
Audrey : James, uh, what can you tell me about this woman? You know her.
James : Helena.
Audrey : Helena...
James : I didn't get a last name. Phil was with her Friday night. She was intense.
Audrey : And when did Phil start getting sick?
James : Saturday. We were supposed to go out... fishing.
Nathan : Poaching.
James : Poaching. But Phil said he was too sore. And then... he got... he got old. I mean, it was like the life
just drained right out of him.
Audrey : Why didn't you take him to the hospital?
James : I wanted to, but he had outstanding warrants. I put him on the boat, but I didn't kill him!

James : Haven, not Camden. We ran into Helena in front of the Gull.
Audrey : So Helen was at the Grey Gull the past two Fridays. And today's Friday.

Helena : Am I too early for dinner?
Duke : Right on time.

Duke : Okay. Ladies.
Beatrice : Duke.
Duke : Help you with anything?
Beatrice : No, Abby and I were just looking for a friend.

On the docks

Audrey : No one saw Helena at the Gull last night.
Nathan : Well, maybe Helena's a fisherman... out to kill poachers. Never mind.
Audrey : Yeah. A smokin' hot, poacher-killin' fisherman.
Nathan : I said never mind.
Audrey : All right, every connection we have comes back to this harbor. And the only similarity between the two victims is their jobs and... Where they met Helena.
Nathan : And how they died.
Audrey : Okay, we need to check state records. Just to see if there's any similar deaths.

Haven PD

Nathan : Got somethin'. Coroner's report has a similar case in derry. A 40-year-old man was reported missing. He died three days later as an old man.
Audrey : How did we miss that?
Nathan : Case is from 1954.
Audrey : Ah, okay, well, that makes me feel better. Do you have any suspects?
Nathan : Why would there be any suspects? He died of old age. Point taken. But... a woman named Alexandra Leidner found the body.
Audrey : Well, this might be a long shot, but... maybe she knows something. Is she still alive?
Nathan : No. Alexandra Leidner, born 1925. Died during childbirth in 1954, one week after the death of the man in Derry.
Audrey : That's a big coincidence.
Nathan : Yeah.

Phone rings. 

Audrey : Duke does not like to be canceled on. Hello? Yeah. Yeah, we'll be right there. Helena was at the Grey Gull on Friday.
Nathan : What?
Audrey : She just never made it inside.

Duke : I gotta tell you, your emergency response time leaves something to be desired. Crap. I'm gonna die, aren't I?
Audrey : Duke, when I couldn't make our dinner, you met up with somebody else, didn't you?
Duke : Audrey, if you want to put work first in this situation, I'm... I'm fine with that.
Nathan : Helena. Did you sleep with her?
Duke : What's that got to do with anything?
Audrey : All right, there's just no easy way to say this. This woman has been sleeping with men every friday night and somehow... aging them.
Duke : Oh.
Audrey : To death. 
Duke : And here I thought I was in real trouble.
Audrey : I'm sorry, but you are.
Duke : Can we stop this?
Audrey : Whatever "this" is. We need to find Helena, so you can start by telling me everything you know about her.
Duke : Everything?
Audrey : Broad strokes.
Duke : She found me outside the gull. I invited her to dinner after... somebody stood me up. But she only had one thing on her mind. And as a general rule I don't... turn down beautiful women with an appetite.
Nathan : You went home with her, just like that?
Duke : No, Nathan, first I passed her a note in study hall. Well, the truth is, I probably would have said yes anyways. But with Helena... I had no control. I can't explain it. It's like she hypnotized me.
Nathan : We need to get him to the hospital.
Duke : Great idea, Nathan. Which department handles life-draining women? 
Nathan : Hmm?
Duke : Exactly. I'm not going to a hospital. You know, this has little quandary-ass freak factor written all over it, so I think I'm gonna stick with you and Scooby here.
Nathan : Did Helena say anything that might tell us who she is or where she's from?
Duke : We didn't do a whole lot of talking.
Audrey : Okay, is there anything from waking up that you remember?
Duke : She was gone.
Nathan : Did you see anything or anyone out of the ordinary? Last night, this morning, t the docks, around your boat... anything.
Duke : No, the last person I spoke to before I went to lie down was Beatrice.
Audrey :  Wait, Beatrice the harbor master? Wasn't she on maternity leave?
Duke : She was at the docks with that elderly woman Abby. They were... looking for someone.
Audrey : Helena. I think we need to ask her that.
Nathan : Does Beatrice still live on Little Bay road?
Duke : Contrary to popular belief, I don't know where everyone in Haven lives, Nathan.
Audrey : Okay. No, where are you going? You need to stay here and rest.
Duke : You mean stay here and die. Yeah, I don't think so.
Nathan : You okay? You need a hand?
Duke : When you're nice to me, it reminds me that I'm dying.
Nathan : Well, hurry the hell up, then.
Duke : Thank you.

Audrey : Are you going somewhere? You're protecting Helena, aren't you? Where is she?
Abby : It's too late. You can't stop her.
Audrey : You know what? Excuse me.
Nathan :  I thought Beatrice adopted one child.
Duke : Hey... Helena was wearing that purple dress. She was wearing this when I saw her.
Audrey : Beatrice.
Nathan : "Beatrice Leidner Mitchell." 
Audrey : Is that any relation to Alexandra Leidner? This man is going to die. I need to know.
Abby : Beatrice is Alexandra's granddaughter. But there's nothing you can do.
Duke : What the hell does that mean?
Audrey : Two dead men, two children. 
Nathan : Beatrice isn't covering for Helena.
Audrey : No. That must be because Beatrice is Helena. Okay, where's Beatrice? Helena, whoever she is.
Abby : The lighthouse. It's private. Beatrice goes there when it's Helena's time.
Audrey : You, you're coming with us.

Audrey : Hey, Beatrice? We have Abby here with us. We know you're in there. Beatrice! I need you to open the door, now! Hey, that's another way to go.
Nathan : Oh, my God. Those babies can't be more than a week old.
Audrey : Three babies in three weeks? Ohh. I thought you were taking a life from these men, but it's... it's the babies that are doing that, isn't it?
Beatrice : I'm so sorry.
Audrey : Don't you know your family's history?
Beatrice : Ohh, I thought I could control it, but I can't control anything that Helena does.
Duke : Well... that, as they say, is that.
Nathan : We need to stop her from delivering this baby.
Beatrice : Ohh.
Abby : Well, it's too late for that. This baby's comin'. Give me room!

Duke : Ohh. Oh, God. I need to rest. You know, when I woke up this morning, I didn't think today was gonna be the day. Ah, you know what I mean.
Nathan : It's not over yet.

Beatrice : I'm sorry. I didn't know what Helena was doing. Not at first.
Abby : She knows that, honey.
Audrey : I need you to help me figure this out, okay, Beatrice?
Beatrice : No!
Audrey : Yes, now! If we don't, Duke will die. Okay, now, just... just start at the beginning.
Beatrice : A few weeks ago, I ran into my ex-husband. And I spend the next four days locked in my room.
Audrey : Why?
Beatrice : He talked about his new family. The little girl that he just had. We'd lost a baby, and... it tore us apart. After that, I just couldn't get out of bed. Until...
Audrey : Until you became Helena.
Beatrice : She went out and met that poor guy Phil. When Helena was in charge, all those feelings were gone.
Audrey : And then you would wake up in the morning and... and be pregnant.
Beatrice : The doctors... said that I would never carry a baby again. And then when I saw Phil, dead on the dock...
Audrey : That's when you recognized the tattoo? And you realized what Helena was doing. Okay, how... how do we stop this?
Abby : You can't!
Audrey : Then how did you stop her grandmother?
Abby : I didn't. She died in childbirth.

Nathan : Come on, man. Stay with me.
Duke : Do you really hate me?
Nathan : Hate's a strong word.
Duke : I'm dying. I can feel it. Generally, I liked being alone. But I didn't want to die that way.
Nathan : You're not gonna die today. When you die, it's gonna be 'cause I killed you myself.

Inside. 

Abby : The contractions are coming too close. This baby is coming, like it or not!
Audrey : Okay, have you ever delivered a baby in the family where the father didn't die?
Abby : Never. Aaah! Ohh!
Audrey : Okay, Beatrice, I know this is hard, but I still need more answers.
Beatrice : I'll try.
Audrey : So you or Helena slept with the men on Friday night?
Abby : The babies come on a Sunday, and then men died on the same day!
Audrey : Okay, well, Joe Campbell didn't die on Sunday. He died on a Monday. Was there something different with the second birth?
Abby : There was problems with the delivery.
Audrey : What kind of problems?
Abby : The baby was in distress. We had to put him under a warmer for a day until he got better.
Audrey : Okay, well, Joe Campbell died Monday afternoon. Did something happen then?
Beatrice : That's when Abby finally let me hold my baby.
Audrey : Okay. So... you held the baby, and... and Joe died.
Beatrice : Please. Please don't let me... lose another baby.
Audrey : Helena already took two men's lives, Beatrice. And you have the chance to save one. Will you do that?
Beatrice : Aaaah! Ohh.

Audrey : Duke... Duke! Duke! Give her to me. Maybe if the father holds the baby, it'll reverse the ageing. Now, I know that I'm basically just winging it, but can you give her to me now?
Nathan : He's barely breathing.
Audrey : Okay. Here.
Nathan : Did you see that? The baby makes him sick. They can't be near each other.
Audrey : All right. All right.
Nathan : Duke, hang on. I'm gonna get you outta here.
Audrey : What are we gonna do with you?

Abby : So how's Duke?
Nathan : He's getting better every minute.
Audrey : But he doesn't seem to remember what happened to him.
Nathan : He'll be fine, as long as we keep baby Jean away from him.
Abby : That's unbelievable. 
Audrey : And Beatrice... 
Abby : She's trying to concentrate on the two babies she has. She couldn't bear to watch Jean go away.
Audrey : Yeah, I don't think Nathan will be able to, either. What?

Audrey : Thank you for coming so quickly.
Woman from adoption agency : Between our agency and Abby, we'll find her a good home.
Audrey : Thanks again.

Nathan : Think we should tell Duke about the baby?
Audrey : I don't know. You know, there's not a rule book for this kind of thing.
Nathan : He's not exactly father material.
Audrey : But apparently you are. You know, there's a maternity ward on the way home. We could stop off if you wanted. Probably a lot of cuties there.

Audrey : Oh, a little gray looks good in your hair. Just a little.
Duke : I'm glad that you like it, but... seems to be going away.
Audrey : How are you feeling?
Duke : It's been interesting. But I'm, uh... on the mend.
Audrey : Hey, do you remember, uh, Beatrice's baby being born?
Duke : Of course.
Audrey : That's your baby.
Duke : That... how is that possible? How is any of this possible? You're saying that I have a... a son or...
Audrey : A daughter. Her name is Jean. But, uh... you can never see her. Cause she's what made you so sick. Abby's actually found a really good family for her in Nebraska.
Duke : That's good.
Audrey : You gonna be okay?
Duke : Uh... I mean, uh... you can't miss what you never had. Thank you for... for taking that for me.
Audrey : Actually, I took it for her. I took it for Jean. You know, I don't have any pictures of the first day that I was in this world so... I wanted her to have it.
Duke : That's nice. You know, I think I'm just gonna go.. check on the food.
